Science magazine article Science article When you take an egg and add low-fat butter, it doesn’t matter whether it’s an egg or a low fat vegetable, scientists found.
A high-carb protein, like a chicken or egg, can stimulate a type of cell in your liver called beta cells to produce cholesterol and other bad cholesterol molecules, according to a study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
“The liver is the main organ in the body that converts carbohydrates to energy,” says Dr. David Nutt, the co-author of the study.
“This is why you get high blood sugar, and because of the liver’s ability to process this energy, cholesterol levels go up, because it’s converted to energy.”
When it comes to cholesterol, fats are good, but it’s cholesterol that makes the difference.
Fat is a chemical in your body that is made up of triglycerides, or “bad” cholesterol.
It’s a component of fats like olive oil and can be converted to something called triglycerides when it’s stored as triglycerides.
That’s why cholesterol is so dangerous when consumed in large amounts.
“Fat is bad for you,” Nutt says.
“And it is made by the body to carry fat around in the bloodstream.
If you put fat in your diet and you take it out of your body, the body can’t process it properly, so it becomes bad cholesterol.”
So when the researchers looked at how much fat is being produced in the liver, they found that high-fat foods and diets can have similar levels of bad cholesterol.
That was surprising to the researchers, because they’ve known for a long time that fats are bad for your health.
“We have known for many years that eating fat and putting fat into the diet raises your risk of heart disease,” says Nutt.
“But we were surprised to find that high fat intake, especially in the form of eggs, also raises the risk of cardiovascular disease.
That means that the egg diet is not just a bad idea for you if you are obese, but that the same kind of fat intake could have a negative effect on your health.”
This is because when you eat fat, your body gets rid of fat as well as glucose, the energy it needs to keep itself functioning properly.
When you eat too much fat, you can end up with high blood pressure and diabetes.
But that can be reversed with dieting, which involves replacing unhealthy fats with healthy fats and foods, and not taking any medications.
“If you are not overweight and not diabetic, it’s pretty much a no-brainer,” says Richard Klein, a professor of nutrition at the University of California, Davis.
“When you eat more fat, it raises the levels of triglyceride and bad cholesterol, and that can lead to diabetes and heart disease.”
So the researchers tested whether egg or vegetable-based diets increased levels of fat in the blood.
They found that eating a low carbohydrate diet increased levels, while eating a high fat diet increased the levels.
“The egg diet was not associated with an increase in bad cholesterol or triglycerides in the diet,” says Klein.
“In fact, the high-carbs egg diet increased good cholesterol levels.
The high-good cholesterol egg diet did increase triglycerides.”
In fact this was even more surprising.
Eating a high carbohydrate diet does not necessarily lead to higher triglycerides and bad LDL (bad) cholesterol.
“High-carbohydrate diets that are low in fat, like the high fat-rich egg diet, have lower LDL cholesterol than those with high-bad cholesterol diets,” says Nelba Schuster, a clinical nutritionist and co-director of the nutrition and clinical trials program at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
“What we found in this study was that low-bad-cholesterol diets do not increase LDL cholesterol.”
But the low-carbons egg diet has a different effect.
When the researchers compared the cholesterol levels of people who ate the egg-based diet to those who ate a high carb diet, they were shocked.
“Our results suggest that the high carb egg diet may be more effective than the high egg diet at raising LDL cholesterol and lowering HDL cholesterol, but only if the low carb diet is a good source of carbohydrates,” says Schuster.
So if you eat high-low carb eggs, it may be better to replace the eggs with a low carb egg, but you should still eat the low carbs.
But you should also avoid foods like olive or sunflower oil, because these fats increase triglyceride levels and are linked to increased risks of heart attack and stroke.
“Low-carb eggs, like those from eggs and bacon, are really good for you.
But the high carbs from eggs have not been shown to be good for health.
